RALEIGH, NC (October 25, 2018) – NLA Diagnostics (NLAD) attended the Structural Mechanics in Reactor Technology (SMiRT) 25 Planning Meeting at North Carolina State University. The three-day event was held in preparation for the SMiRT 25 conference, which will be hosted in Charlotte, NC in August 2019. At the invitation of Dr. Abhinav Gupta, President-Elect and Conference Chair, NLAD showcased its nondestructive concrete characterization systems, the NLAD PioneerTM and the NLAD ReconTM. A poster was also presented on the research that has been conducted during the development of the equipment for the US Army.
NLAD appreciated the opportunity to gain exposure to the nuclear industry and foster new professional relationships. Discussions with attendees reaffirmed the importance of life cycle management for concrete structures and the need for nondestructive examination methods. NLAD looks forward to exhibiting at the SMiRT 25 conference in Charlotte in 2019.
“SMiRT 25 will be a valuable forum for germinating, communicating, and advancing, the scientific and technological developments to secure the future of nuclear energy. Leaders, managers, and engineers from around the world will come together to continue the SMiRT tradition of driving innovation for safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear energy.”
